How should PTFE thread seal tape be applied to chemical process piping?
Clean the male threads before installation and wrap the PTFE tape in the same direction as the fitting will be tightened. Apply the tape evenly with sufficient tension and coverage, while keeping excess tape away from the end of the fitting to help prevent loose material from entering the system. The required number of wraps depends on the tape specification, thread size, and fitting condition.
