Is PTFE tape suitable for water supply and drainage systems?
Yes. PTFE thread seal tape is widely used for sealing threaded connections in water supply, plumbing, and applicable threaded drainage piping systems.
The tape conforms to the pipe threads and helps fill small gaps between mating threaded surfaces, supporting a reliable and leak-resistant connection.
PTFE tape should be used on threaded connections for which tape is appropriate. It is not intended to replace gaskets, solvent cement, compression seals, or other sealing methods required for non-threaded pipe connections.
